As an individual with a visual impairment who is seeking employment, successfully maintaining employment, or ascending the career ladder, you’re no stranger to confronting workplace barriers. The good news is you don’t have to navigate the barriers independently, you can learn from others. It’s true. APH CareerConnect created a space to support and connect with other professionals with visual impairments.
Here’s the space: APH CareerConnect message boards.
Why the Message Boards Are Useful
Bring your questions and concerns. Perhaps the topics include preparing for a job interview, disclosing a visual impairment, or necessary job accommodations.
Bring your insights and experiences. Maybe you have solutions to common work problems, answers to common job-accommodation questions, or tips for accessing print on the job.
The CareerConnect message boards provide a place for your questions and suggestions. You’ll find listening ears and supportive words; you’ll also be a listening ear and share supportive words to others with visual impairments.
